Scrapbooking workshop (8 years up) - Autumn 2010
Different themes are proposed during the year.
- General objective: you will familiarize with the tools, adhesives, albums, and productchoices and acquire a good knowledge of the scrapbooking terminologies. You will also explore organizational tips, layout ideas and background papers.You will learn how to use inks, ribbons, stickers, introduce letters, create embossing accessories, etc ...
- Topics: photo albums, special pages, greeting cards, travel books, ...
- Prerequisite: scrapbooking workshop opened and accessible to all students from 8 years old and up.
- Level: adults, teenagers and children (8 years old and more)
- Prepare a «treasure box» with pictures, papers, fabrics, beads, buttons, ribbons, scotch tape, drawings, and anything that would personalize your creation.
- Hours: Saturday from 9.30 AM to 12.00 PM.

Upcoming Scrapbooking Workshops themes:
Workshops "Back from holidays" - on Saturdays September 18 and 25, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
- Objective: plan and realize your holidays' album.
- On Saturday, September 18: presentation and explanation of the conduct of the two mornings of scrapbooking. Different basic informations are given to start the album.
- On Saturday, September 25: continuation of the creation of the album. All the "tricks" are shared so that you can continue creating your album at home!
- During the two mornings, you will work on:
- o The title page: it is the motive of the album. It introduces the topic and the presentation of the pages. You will be introduced among other things, to the "journaling" (text accompanying the photos) by answering various questions as: who? When? Where? Why? How?
- o The dedication page: it is the "mission" of your album, why and for who it is designed. It answers the question: who is this album for?
- o Page sections: they are the separators of the different steps of your album.
- o Filled pages: they are the pages that will contain your photos, your texts, you memories.
- o Closing page: this page is not compulsory but it is a nice way to finish an album!
- o We draw your attention to the fact that this construction of an album is given as a guide but is not compulsory. The artist is open to your creativity.
- Do not forget to provide: anything that can beautify or document your album as a road map, restaurant cards, a plane ticket, a tourist brochure....
- Price : $48 and $13 for the material, hence $61 in total (this cost includes 4 sheets 12 x 12, 8 matrices fitting 4 sheets of paper, 1 sheet of stickers, 1 journal titles, 1 block of adhesives). You may also opt for the purchase of an album 12 x 12 at additional cost of $ 61 (coverage, 15 pages and 15 pages protectors).
Workshops "HALLOWEEN" - on Saturdays October 16 and 23, 2010, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
- Objective: realization of four creations on the theme of Halloween: a candy box "coffin", some decorations - 6 napkin-ring (3 large 3 small) and 4 bats "clothes-pins", 2 cards, and a scrapbooking page.
During the first session on Saturday, October 16, from 9: 30 am to 12: 00 pm: presentations, details on the conduct of the two meetings, realization of the candy box "coffin" box and pictures of the participants creations.
During the second session on Saturday, October 23, 9: 30 am to 12: 00 pm: Realization of the 2 cards and the decorations. The end of the workshop will be dedicated to the creation of the Halloween scrapbooking page. Don't forget to bring your most terrifying photos! - Material included: 5 sheets of paper board 12 x 12 inches,-1 sheet of felt, wood decorations, clothes-pins, 1 set of Halloween designed paper (4 double face printed sheets 12 x 12-in, 8 blocs of double face printed paper, 1 sheet of decorative stickers and 1 sheet of titles).

Mixed Media course for children - Autumn 2010
- Objective: In this mixed media course, children from 8 to 12 will draw, paint, make wool felt from scratch, learn the basics of decorative stitching by hand ... and more! Children will learn, practice and explore new and fun activities to make wonderful pieces of art and craft.
- Mediums: gouache, acrylic, ink, charcoal, colour pencils, felt... and various recycled materials.
- Requirement: mixed media course accessible to all students between 8 and 12 years old. Each student is followed individually according to its level.
- Schedule : Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM from September 25 to december 11 2010.

Photography course - Creation workshop - Autumn 2010
- Objective: Explore the great possibilities traditional photography, numerical, or without a camera, through concrete workshops and exercises. Imagine, play, create!
At the end of this course, students should have well understood and assimilated the different functions of a camera, the technical aspects that make up the image and the creative expression. Demystify the basic functions of your digital camera. Identify your preferences with respect to photographic subjects. Know the basic rules of photography and put them into practice. - Class 1: overview, history of photography, modern currents and expectations. Photo session: make a photo "as would do" your preferred artist.
- Class 2: The exposure: out of focus and caught - speed & aperture demystified. Photo session: a photo of sport and a long exposure photography
- Class 3: Expressive exposure: high and low -key images. Photo session: a photo all in white and a photo completely black
- Class 4: Color and black and white: emotional expression. Photo session: express your preferred color
- Class 5: Composition and subject. Photo session: portrait! Pull out the best from your subject.
- Class 6: The digital retouching and what they provide to an image.
- Class 7: Photo-collage and alternative techniques.
- Course 8: Panoramic pasting 360.
- Prerequisite: photography course accessible to all children from 8 to 12 years.
- Days: from October 2 to November 27 (no course on October 23), on Saturdays, and a 4 hours session to complete the photos presentation (framing, mounting, preparation of the exhibition), hence a 24 hours course.
- Hours: Saturdays from 10 am to 12.30 pm, and a four hours session to program on the first class and which will be taken before December 11.
