Mosaic -Adults - MTL - Le Plateau
In this mosaic course you will learn the basics and essential notion of the Montreal Mosaic style to be able to create your own projects.
Materials are included.

This workshop presents in a structured way, concepts, history and evolution of modern Mosaic developed here in Montreal. Participants can learn the techniques that allow to create beautiful pieces that meet the rules of the mosaic - old or modern - art. The techniques are shown in a demonstration so that participants can apply them on a pattern at their disposal. Students will choose among two proposed, which will allow participants to learn and understand the different styles of the interpretations of each of the same pattern.
All steps necessary for the creation of a mosaic are presented: choice of colours, cutting technique, technique of placement, installation and application of the grount.
The art of the mosaic is within the reach of each one who combines patience, creativity and dexterity. We must respect the fact that the mosaic is a slow art. So the additional hours are included in the price of the materials.

Specific objectives:
- Make a mosaic and master the techniques of indoor facility
Teaching methods
- Images of mosaics as updated reference available to participants so that they can analyze the style to their initiation project.
- Individual follow-up by the workshop teacher or his assistant
- Demonstration and practice, advice, tips and tricks

- Presentation of the plan of the course
- Small presentation: the style of Montreal.
- Visualization of projects carried out by previous students
- Presentation of the material and pliers to use
- Introduction to Cup, practice cut-outs with the pliers
- Choice of a project
- Implementation of the project on the media 8 x 8 in
- Technique "how place tiles!"
- Creation of the project
- Transfer of the work on the permanent, support for those who end up
- Gluing of the mosaic on its wooden support
- Technique of laying the cement joint
Participants leave with their project once the cement is finished or come on appointment, for the completion of the project.
